High school
The high school program is designed for rising 9th-12th grade boys and girls who are looking to maximize their talent in the sport of track and field. We welcome athletes who aspire to compete at the collegiate level as well as those who simply want to reach their full potential in high school.
First-year athletes will build a strong foundation in speed development and strength before progressing to more event-specific training. While we emphasize training for the multi-events (heptathlon and decathlon), we also welcome and encourage athletes focusing on running events and specific field events. Our program supports sprinters and middle-distance runners, from the 60m dash to the 1600m run.
For athletes aspiring to compete at the collegiate level, we provide recruiting guidance and resources. Our coaches help identify programs that align with each athlete’s goals and abilities, offer support in communicating with college coaches, and actively reach out on their behalf.
The high school program is a 9-month commitment, running from June-February (please contact Anna Bowers if your child is a multi-sport athlete to discuss seasonal opportunities). Athletes will train four days a week (decathletes will train five days during certain seasons), with an additional three-day weight training program post-practice. We expect full commitment from all athletes for the duration of the program.

Over the years, this period has proven vital in keeping athletes refreshed and excited as they head into the fall season.

We do, however, always welcome club members to come and practice at Lipscomb with the Lipscomb Academy team, especially if the athlete is not being coached in an event that they are expected to compete in.
