James Warmbrod IV Named MW Freshman of the Week at Air Force

Congratulations to our former athlete James Warmbrod IV!

AIR FORCE ACADEMY—Following a strong performance at the prestigious Drake Relays, first-year Air Force sprinter James Warmbrod IV as named the Mountain West Men's Track and Field Freshman of the Week on April 30. It is the second conference award of the year for the Nashville native.
 
Warmbrod posted a career-best 400-meter time of 47.38 to finish fourth out of 25 runners on the Blue Oval during competition on Friday, April 26. With that time – the fastest by a Mountain West Freshmen and fifth amongst all conference runners, Warmbrod moved up to No. 17 on the Academy's all-time standings. The freshman returned to the track the following day to lead off the 4x400-meter relay team that posted a conference-leading time of 3:08.87 in the historic meet's final event. That time, which is the third-fastest in Air Force history, helped the Air Force men to third-place finish in the relay cup standings.
